Melissa S. Lloyd, MSW, LCAS-A, LCSW-A, is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who specializes in addiction, trauma, mood disorders, and relationship issues. Melissa holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work (2010) and a Master’s in Social Work (2013), both from the University at Buffalo. She brings extensive experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, in various settings. She is passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community, where she takes a person-centered approach, tailoring her methods to meet each individual's needs and goals. Her therapeutic style combines supportive therapy, solution-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices. Originally from Niagara Falls, NY, Melissa now resides in Raleigh, NC, with her partner and their Norwegian Forest Cat, Emmie. She frequently visits the Asheville area, which she loves. She will be working primarily in the Clayton office.
